Daytime Wedding in Capri
A Celebration of Love, Laughter and Laid-Back Island Style
When Maria Teresa and Renato approached me to plan their Capri wedding, one thing was immediately clear: they envisioned a simple, authentic celebration of their love, surrounded by their dearest friends and family. Nothing overly elaborate or pretentious. They wanted a relaxed, joyful atmosphere where everyone could feel comfortable and at ease. I wanted their wedding to be a reflection of their personalities, a moment of shared joy, a precious memory to cherish forever.
For Maria Teresa, originally from Capri, there was no question that she would return to her beautiful island – the place of her birth, her childhood, and where her family still lives – to celebrate her wedding. Maria Teresa prepared for the wedding in her family's home, with her cousin, Margherita Bersani, working her magic as the makeup artist, and Gabriella Iuele, a childhood friend, styling her hair. Their adorable little boy was a constant presence, adding an extra layer of joy to the day.
As is tradition, Maria Teresa’s father proudly walked her through the town and down the aisle.
Following the ceremony, a trio of musicians were waiting outside the church and led the wedding guests to the elegant Villa Margherita, serenading them through the picturesque streets of Capri.
Guests were greeted with a delightful aperitif before lunch, accompanied by the soothing classical melodies of the "Capri Strings" quartet. The gentle strains of Mozart and Bach created a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance, encouraging conversation and laughter amongst the guests.
The unique seating chart, displayed on a charming old well, added a touch of rustic elegance.
The restaurant's décor, featuring crisp white tables and chairs complemented by simple yet beautiful arrangements of daisies and chamomiles created by floral designer Domenico Ruggiero, perfectly captured the island's charm. Playful tambourines, each bearing a unique and amusing quote, adorned every chair, adding a touch of whimsy to the elegant setting.
Photographer Giuseppe Annunziata captured candid moments of the guests, surprising them with printed photos as a thoughtful gift – a gesture that was warmly received.
The highlight of the reception was undoubtedly the vibrant Tarantella performance by the Scialapopolo band. The infectious music filled the air, inspiring guests of all ages to sing, dance, and celebrate the happy couple.
The simple yet delicious wedding cake provided a perfect sweet ending to a truly memorable day.
